Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Kampeki Factory LLC ("we", "us", "our") processes personal data when you use the FarangAmongUs mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

2. Our approach to privacy

FarangAmongUs is designed around data minimisation: we collect and retain only information that is necessary to operate a community travel network built on physical stickers and consent-based contact.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not display precise GPS location or real-time tracking on the map in V1 — only country-level presence that you update manually.

3. Data we collect

Account and profile: email address (private, used for sign-in and important system messages); nickname (public, unique and immutable in V1); nationality; current country and optional current city; spoken languages; "looking for" preference (meetings or professional); profile visibility settings (map, mosaic, Where Are You requests); notification preferences; account status (active, paused, etc.).

Usage data: last time you opened the app ("last seen"), shown to other members in a relative format; technical logs needed to operate and secure the Service.

Community features: Spot events you send or receive (including photos you submit, contextual message, and country); Where Are You requests and responses; private messages in conversations opened only after an accepted Spot or Where Are You event.

Sticker orders: shipping address and order details required to print and deliver your sticker; payment is processed by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Partner accounts (if applicable): business name, description, location links, and related partner profile fields submitted for community partner listings.

Push notifications: device push tokens when you enable notifications, used to deliver alerts you have opted into (messages, spots, Where Are You, order updates, etc.).

4. What is public vs private

Private (not shown to other users): your email address and shipping address for orders.

Public or community-visible (depending on your settings and member status): nickname, nationality, current country, spoken languages, looking-for preference, last seen, sticker/avatar when your membership is active, spot photos after moderation, and partner business information for approved partners.

Current city is stored but not displayed to other users in V1.

Members with an active sticker may appear on the world map and mosaic when they choose to; you can disable map or mosaic visibility in settings.

5. How we use your data

To create and secure your account (email one-time-password authentication).

To operate core features: map and mosaic discovery, Spot scanning, Where Are You requests, messaging, sticker ordering, and partner listings.

To moderate community content (for example spot photos) and enforce our rules.

To send notifications you have enabled and to process payments and deliveries.

To maintain safety, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

6. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)

Where applicable, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the Service and fulfilling sticker orders); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, community moderation, and improving the Service); and consent where required (for example optional notifications or the community trace described below).

7. Sharing and service providers

We use trusted processors to run the Service, including: Supabase (database, authentication, file storage, and server functions — EU region recommended for hosting); Stripe (payment processing); printing and logistics partners (order fulfilment using shipping details you provide); and push notification infrastructure (such as Firebase / Apple Push Notification service) to deliver alerts to your device.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition subject to appropriate safeguards.

Other members see only what the product is designed to show publicly, as described above.

8. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries where our providers operate. When data is transferred outside your country, we aim to use appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.

9. Retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal requirements.

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise private data such as your email and personal settings. Conversations may be anonymised for the other participant. Pending spot events are cancelled. Partner accounts linked to you are deactivated.

Sticker and nickname community trace: if you order a sticker, you may accept that your nickname and sticker remain visible as a community trace after account deletion. This choice is presented at order time.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to data portability or withdrawal of consent where processing is consent-based.

You can pause your account in the app to hide from the map and stop business notifications while keeping conversations.

To exercise your rights, email contact@farangamongus.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

11. Security

We implement technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including access controls and encrypted transport. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong, unique email account for sign-in.

12. Children

The Service is not directed at children under the age required to consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

13. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top indicates the latest version. Material changes may be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
